  Managed office space provider Smartworks has leased a total of 5.6 lakh sq ft, encompassing over 8,500 seats in Pune. It is already 40% pre-booked by IT/ITeS, BFSI and manufacturing clients and is scheduled to be operational in September, the company said. JLL, India's leading real estate consultancy firm, facilitated the transaction.   In the single largest flexible office space transaction in the country, managed office space provider  Smartworks  has picked up 5.6 lakh sq ft space on lease in  Pune ’s  Baner locality  taking its portfolio in the city to over 1.4 million sq ft. The firm is planning to invest Rs 150 crore to set up an 8,500-seat co-working hub in the new office, which is their third centre in Baner and seventh in Pune. Total tenure of this lease is 15 years. With this, Smartworks’ total portfolio will increase to 31 centres and 70,000 desks across nine cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. “It has been a high growth trajectory for us in Pune in the last three years.   With seven centres, Smartworks has a total footprint of around 1.4 million sq ft with over 25000 seats in Pune.    The companies who have taken up space, including Pune-based MAN Trucks India Pvt Ltd (400 seats), are from sectors such as information technology (IT), banking and financial services and manufacturing   Bengaluru: Managed office space provider  Smartworks  has leased around 200,000 sq ft to five companies in its new flexible workspace centre in suburban Pune’s Baner area. This is part of the Noida based office operator’s newly launched, 560,000 sq ft co-working centre M-AGILE, which will have 8500 seats, one of the largest in the city.   The companies who have taken up space, including Pune-based MAN Trucks India Pvt Ltd (400 seats), are from sectors such as information technology (IT), banking and financial services and manufacturing.
